We also have our new 6 bed luxury cabin available, bringing our accomodation to a total of 124 beds.

Catering for your group can be arranged, or you can self-cater in our commercial kitchen.

DESCRIPTION:

Charnwood Outdoor Centre is located within a
3-hour drive from Melbourne CBD or 40 mins from Benalla.

The campsite can sleep up to 118 people in dorm beds plus 6 in the luxury cabin and offers an array of camping options depending on group numbers.  Each section of the camp can be booked separately.

 

Not just a school’s venue, the campsite can also host community, religious or family groups as well as festivals or corporate team building getaways.

Fully heated rooms and treated drinking water make the property a hidden gem in the Strathbogie Ranges.

How to Get There

 

From Melbourne

Option 1:

  • Head up the Hume Hwy towards Benalla.
  • Turn right towards Mansfield at Benalla- When you get to Swanpool you will be turning right.
  • This turnoff is located just after the hall (there is a blue Charnwood sign)
  • About 1.5 km along this road turn left into Lima East Rd.
  • About 1.5 km along this road turn left into Lima East Rd.
  • Travel along this road to the camp… It is at the end of the road.
  • You will recognise that you are there because there are big gates and a Charnwood sign.

Option 2:

  • Travel to Yea via the Melba Hwy
  • Head towards Mansfield… you should not get to Mansfield- Turn Left onto the Midland Highway (Just after Bonnie Doon) towards Benalla/Swanpool- As you reach Swanpool turn left into road before the hall (there is a blue Charnwood sign)
  • About 1.5 km along this road turn left into Lima East Rd.
  • Travel along this road to the camp… It is at the end of the road.
  • You will recognise that you are there because: There are big gates and a Charnwood sign.
