Auscamp Overview
Auscamp is one of the premier outdoor Education providers in Victoria. We commenced business in May of 1986 as a specialist provider of outdoor activity equipment to schools, community groups and families. Over the following few years the business developed into the provision of basic outdoor recreation programs as well.
At this time the director of Auscamp, John Lindros, was also teaching physical education and running an extensive outdoor education program at Bialik College.
Auscamp continued developing slowly until the late 1990's at which time John decided to 'retire' from teaching to run the business full time.
Auscamp has now become one of the larger. without losing the personal touch, providers of safe, exciting, innovative outdoor education program in Victoria. We pride ourselves in our ability to meet the needs of the groups we work with and provide individualised programs.
We have worked with well over 30 schools to provide everything from equipment hire and one off Duke of Ed style programs through to sequentially based full school programs.
Auscamp runs many Adventure style programs from 1 to 8 days in duration. These are based in places like Melbourne parks and gardens, Snowy River National Park, Glenelg River, Otway National Park, Angahook State Forest, The Grampians, Eildon and Kuringai Chase National Park in NSW. We also run residential based programs from a number of sites around Victoria. we have our own site, Charnwood, located not far from Mansfield in the Strathbogie Ranges. In winter we also run downhill ski programs.
To achieve the delivery of this amazing range of programs we have an enthusiastic and dedicated number of qualified staff who work tirelessly on programs to help achieve the school's aims and provide a positive experience for the students.
Of course Auscamp is fully insured, maintains all appropriate Parks Victoria permits and is the only service provider in Victoria to successfully complete the Australian Camping Association Accreditation Program for service providers.
